Career development pathways: Skills, success and squiggles

A session to help participants: recognise the breadth of skills and competencies postdoctoral researchers develop, how these are transferable and valued across a wide range of sectors; explore the concept of ‘squiggly’ careers by considering case studies of postdocs who have found success in non-traditional pathways; consider how they can develop their own definitions of career success. This session was delivered at the National Postdoc Conference 2025, at the British Academy.
